ALIDI enters Logistics Market of St. Petersburg
09.11.2009ALIDI Group, Russian leading provider of logistics and distribution, concluded first logistics contracts in St. Petersburg.
ALIDI has been working in St. Petersburg since 2005, where it provides distribution for P&G. One of the strategies of ALIDI Group in the year 2009 was to enter the logistics market of the second biggest Russian city. For this purpose ALIDI’s branch in St. Petersburg moved to a new warehouse in the beginning of this year. Now ALIDI operates a modern warehouse of 13 000 sq. m. with the storage capacity of 21 000 pallets. But the economic situation made a number of obstacles to implement this project. The crisis had an impact on the logistic market and almost led to its meltdown. Even now the situation is rather complex: the offer is still higher than the demand and the number of companies offering similar services as ALIDI Group is very big. At the same time the freight owners has still the trend to minimize their expenses on logistics.
Despite all these facts today ALIDI has in its portfolio seven contracts according to which the company provides warehousing logistics. Among ALIDI’s clients are Pepsi, world leader in beverages; Hotter, distributor of aerogrills; Vitek, producer of household appliances; Orimi-Trade, Russian producer of tea and coffee.
«In the future ALIDI plans to strengthen its positions on the logistics market of St. Petersburg. Company has high potential for the development offering partners high level of the services” – said Peter Demchenkov, General Director at ALIDI Group.
