ALIDI Holds Forum “Logistics is our business 2009”

 ALIDI held a unique business forum “Logistics is our business”. It was designed for logistics and supply chain managers. The event gathered in new ALIDI distribution center in Nizhny Novgorod more than 200 representatives of major Russian manufactures and retailers. The forum was organized together with Event-make company. This highly focused event was specifically designed for directors and purchasing managers, for those seeking innovations and solutions that will positively impact their business.

“For the first time our company received such an important event of national scale. We have an experience in organizing Open door days for our partners and higher schools. But life changes and when this year Event-make offered us cooperation in organization of the logistics event we accepted with pleasure this proposal and did our best to make the event interesting for attendees. – says Peter Demchenkov, General Director at ALIDI group.

The forum offered attendees several activities: conference, exposition and a tour of the warehouse including demonstration of implemented modern technologies. The warehouse guide-tour was especially popular among visitors, and instead of 30 minutes lasted more than an hour. Guests had a unique possibility to gain experience in warehouse work organization and to see tools that might help us improve logistics processes and reduce costs.

The conference was as well very informative. The expert panel comprised industry gurus. They demonstrated their presentations concerning logistics industry development in difficult economic situation.

The keynote of the conference was the increasing role of the Volga region in Russian logistics market and the shifting of the freight flows from Moscow to regions. For example M.video company, Russian chain of household appliances presented their project of transfer of 30 %logistics operations from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod. ALIDI was selected as a provider of choice to organize M.video distribution center.
