ALIDI Grows Market Share in Kenya

In 2013 the company turnover exceeded US$ 832 million. ALIDI offers high-quality services in 22 branches of Russian Federation, Belarus and Kenya. ALIDI biggest partners are world leaders: Procter & Gamble, Nestle and Wrigley.
Mr. Danila Medvedev, General Manager of ALIDI Kenya Limited noted that ALIDI entered the Kenyan market as Nestle distributor in September of the previous year and was the first Russian logistic and distribution company to start up in Africa.
"The company is the sole distributor of Nestle products in Kenya. ALIDI started its work in Kenya from the Mount Region and North Nairobi in September of 2013 and in May of 2014 ALIDI started to provide distribution services for Nestle on the whole territory of the country".
Mr. Medvedev points out that today ALIDI business in Kenya is constantly growing. There are 125 employees, 2000 sq.m. of warehouses, located in the biggest cities of Kenya, 80 vehicles: bikes, vans, sales representatives’ cars, cars for deliveries.
"We have a warehouse here in Nairobi located at Cape Business Park, on the Thika Super highway. In our work we use two selling techniques to reach our customers: van-selling (using vans, tuk-tuks) and preselling, where the sales representative raises an order and then the product is delivered to the customer by car'", - explains Mr. Medvedev.
ALIDI always uses modern technologies in its work. For example, ERP-system, integrated into the company’s work, helps to cope with everyday issues, such as credit control, warehouse inventory process, delivery route planning, stock management etc.
"When we represent results of ALIDI work in Kenya to our partners, they are always excited with the business growth during the year, - says Danila Medvedev, general director of ALIDI Kenya. – Our fast growth from a small Nestle distributor in Mount Region to the national distributor with more than 1 billion shillings annual turnover proved that ALIDI can tackle with the most difficult tasks."
